Staircase photography has always had a mysterious allure for me. I am drawn to the contrast between the horizontal and vertical lines of architecture and the unexpected curves found in spiral staircase photography. The sudden shape changes an architect incorporates to create a perfect balance between different forms are often highly photogenic.

As a photographer, I’m particularly fascinated by the details added to architectural compositions, such as modern cubes that illuminate each step of a classic grand staircase. The final image often transforms into a dreamlike space where color, angles, and wood flooring seem to dance in a perfectly improvised waltz.

I love shooting staircases because they have so much to tell: they connect different parts of a space, link one story to another, and even feel as if they bridge different worlds. Stairs are the thin line that resides between two realms.

The flow of movement they represent usually leads to true beauty, as their curves and shapes draw fascinating forms. A spiral staircase reminds me of our own existence – unpredictable and surprising, endlessly twirling as time ticks away, carrying us to the next chapters of our lives.
