“Pirouette at Number 10” – I love shooting half doors as it offers the opportunity to open a way to people’s imagination. Why did the photographer choose to keep this side of the photo? Is the other side identical or the opposite? Is it composed of the same or different colors and shades? Are there flowers next to the door?
These questions lead to a deeper insight into the photograph. When achieving this stage, a smile appears on my face as I feel I may have awoken the viewer’s curiosity.
But there is more – what caught my attention, to be honest, in “Pirouette at Number 10” was the small streetlamp at the left side of the picture. It is as if it is pirouetting its way through arches, walls, and corridors, trying to connect with the door, its number, and postbox – a little, discreet fairy that tries linking us, tourists, with the heritage and history of this charming Tuscan village. What do you think is its story? Any idea?
