“Waiting for Godot” is one of my favorite photographs as it reminds me of everything I love. I shot the picture in my beloved Antwerp in Belgium, where I was born and raised. I adore returning to it and visiting it as a tourist, as it has many hidden and beautiful treasures.
One of them is the Beguinage, one of the less-known parts of the city. Just like Antwerp, it is a silent, charming, and discreet place that will make you fall in love with the town again.
The neighborhood is full of little houses, but nature is omnipresent in different variations as there are blooming trees and flowers. Green seems to be the leading color in this photograph until the eyes meet the resting ginger cat in the middle of the photo.
This surprising and unexpected effect is what I enjoy so much about that city. No matter where you wander, you always discover a detail, corner, or spot that astonishes and amazes you and makes you want to know more about this jewel.
