I am passionate about beautiful gardens as they embellish people’s existence and are the lungs of a city. Indeed, some of them are so breathtaking I get the impression of walking in an impressionistic painting.
Believe it or not, I shot “The Garden Magician” in the summer in the garden of a mesmerizing hotel in Israel. I felt I had landed in the middle of a Technicolor movie as the grass and leaves were so green, and the flowers had such powerful and flashy colors.
And then I discovered the genius magician of that scene: a discreet and loving gardener who seemed to be talking to his little treasures. That is when I uncovered the deep secret of his talent: passion. It was so fulfilling to observe that man and shoot him while doing what he loved most: offering elegance and a glance at the chaotic and unexpectedness of nature.
