I always like to get recommendations from locals when I visit a city, as this is the only way to discover its best-kept secrets. But this time, I wanted to turn around and leave as I’m not a fan of cold buildings. I nevertheless remembered my grandmother’s wise words: never settle for what the eyes see, settle for what the heart feels. And she was right!

The hotel, where I shot this photograph, offers various places to chill and absorb its elegance: there is a corner for green or cozy winter colored furniture lovers, Art Deco fans, grandiosity, discretion, modernity, and tradition.

You would think that such a mixture would lead to a no-go, but it is as if you were contemplating the birth of a masterpiece amidst a crown. Indeed, as you notice in this photo, once you take a step back and look at the complete picture, you are thunderstruck by its result.

It is as if the architect wanted us to experience at once the different moods, periods, seasons, and situations that fill our lives. Make us understand, that although our existence may be dark, grey, white or cold, there is always a peaceful oasis, filled with lanterns, that awaits somewhere over the rainbow.

And isn’t that what it is all about? To be able to find these places that have the magical powers to take our minds off from our routine, hardships, troubles, and torments, and invite us for an unforgettable moment of happiness bliss, beauty, dreams, and smiles?
