Somewhere over the Rainbow

When I visit monuments and tourist sites, I love discovering what lies behind the secret of the success of a place. I like surrounding the building and seeing what is happening at the back, as this often represents the true identity and story of the jewel because it is less exposed and prone to admiring looks. My photographs archive is full of these kinds of pictures.

“Somewhere over the Rainbow” is one of the many examples; look at the house and ask yourself what you see. What does the gem remind you? What is the meaning of it? Is it tranquility? Emptiness? The past? Or all three of them? These questions might help you understand the elegance and charm of a location but primarily catch its depth, heritage, and transmission.
