I know it’s been a while since I last published a post. The reason is simple: I’ve been rethinking my entire photography process and searching for what I truly want to share with you.
It took me months, as I needed to question many different aspects of my approach. I had to find a strong and distinctive narrative for my photography; something that would make people instantly recognize my pictures as those of Noëmie.
Here’s what I realized:
1. As a strong believer in the “Small but Mighty” philosophy (I guess my 1m56 height has something to do with it), I’ve noticed that people often overlook the small things in their daily lives and surroundings. So, I decided to dedicate a significant part of my photography to details—encouraging viewers to seek them out, as they are the delicate sparks that catch my eye. I want people to look at my pictures, not just scroll past them.
2. Imagination has always been a driving force in my life. I love exploring different perspectives and interpretations of scenes, giving a voice to static elements and ensuring they tell a story beyond what’s expected.
3. Humor and sarcasm have always been deeply intertwined with my life, helping me navigate its challenges. Just like chicken soup for the sick, I decided to integrate these elements into my photography as they have the power to make people smile or even laugh, while scrolling through social media.
4. To successfully achieve points 1, 2, and 3, I realized that funny and engaging captions were essential. If I wanted to grab attention and bring joy to my followers, it was high time to incorporate them into my photography.
5. And finally, I understood how important it is to keep believing in what I do! To stay open to constructive criticism, listen to feedback, apply (some) suggestions – but always remain true to myself!
And you? What changes do you want to make?
